I. Not only….but also

Ex: He is hardworking and brilliant. ( Anh ấy chăm chỉ và tài năng)
Sử dụng cấu trúc not only….but also…..
He is not only hard-working but also brilliant.
(Anh ấy không chỉ chăm chỉ mà còn tài năng nữa. Nhấn mạnh phần tài năng của anh ấy)
Examples
“She’s beautiful and smart.”
“She’s not only beautiful, but also smart,”
It kind of gives a little bit of extra emphasis to that second part; being smart.
1. Với thông tin là Danh từ (Nouns)
Ex: She can play not only the piano but also violin
S+ V+ not only + Noun1+ but also + Noun2.
2. Với thông tin là tính từ (Adjectives)
Ex: Tom is not only handsome but also sociable.
S+ be + not only + adj1 + but also +adj2
3. Với thông tin là động từ (verb)
Ex: Hoa not only sings very beautifully but also composes the music well.
S + not only +Verb1 +but also +Verb2.
4. Với thông tin là Trạng Từ (Adverbs)
Ex: He used to live not only in America but also in France.
S+ V + not only+ Adv1+ but also+ Adv2.
5. Đảo ngữ với “not only…but also…”
Cách dùng: càng nhấn mạnh thông tin đang nói đến hơn nữa
Ex1: Not only did the argument cause the bad atmosphere but also the suspicion between them.
Not only +auxiliary verbs (trợ động từ) + S+V … but also
Ex2: Not only is Tam rich but also kind.

II. Both….and
Usage:emphasise the link between two things or people together
This makes a stronger connection than and alone:
Ex1: Both Britain and France agree on the treaty.
(stronger link than Britain and France agree on the treaty.)
Ex2: She played both hockey and basketball when she was a student.
(stronger link than She played hockey and basketball when
she was a student.)

Both can be used to link two adjectives to a sentence.
Both + Adj1+ and + Adj2
Examples:
He is both smart and resourceful.
My father was both happy and sad when I got married.
They are both tired and hungry after shopping.
2. Với thông tin là Danh từ (Nouns)
Both also can be used to link two nouns to a sentence.
Both + N1 + and + N2
Examples:
You can be both mother and businesswoman.
Both Alice and Susan have to comply with the rules.
I used to like playing both football and basketball when I was young.
3. Với thông tin là động từ (verb)
Ex:We have a lot of time today, so we can both visit the museum and see a movie.
S + both +V1 and V2
III.Either …or (`one or another`) nghĩa là "hoặc...hoặc...
Usage: There is a choice between the two choices, and only one can be selected ( affirmative)
You can have either ice cream or cheesecake for dessert, so please chose one.
Either Jack or Jim will go to the meeting next week.
We don’t have a lot of time today, so we can either visit the museum or see a movie.
1.Structures either …or
Ex1: I have either bananas or apples. (Nouns)
S+ V+ either +N1 or N2
Ex2: We can either jum or run.
S+ V+ either V1 or V2
Ex3: Either Peter or we go the supermarket.
Either N1 or N2 + V2
IV. Neither ….nor (`not this one and not that one`): không...cũng không"
Usage: indicates that neither of the two choices can be selected. In other words, neither choice is available:
You can have neither chocolate nor vanilla ice cream. We have just strawberry left.
( I don’t have chocolate ice cream and I don’t have vanilla ice cream)
Neither Greg nor his wife are hockey fans.
( Gred doesn’t like hockey, and his wife doesn’t like hockey.)
We have no free time today, so we can neither visit the museum nor see a movie.
(We cannot visit the museum and we cannot see a movie.)

Ex2:We can neither read nor write.
S + V+ neither V1 nor V2.
Ex3: Neither students nor a teacher can talk easily.
