1.Traditional seaside holidays
The British upper class started seaside holidays in late 18th century

The middle classes followed around the beginning of 20th century and working with the working classes .
Time : last for 1 or 2 weeks
Places : Hotels , boarding house , small family business
Food : at local restaurants which are cheap and conventional
Activities :
Children : ride donkeys , make sandcastles , buy ice-creams or swim in the sea .
Older adults : sit in the deck chair , go for a paddle with their skirts or trousers-legs hitched up
Some resorts have wooden huts on near the beach ( beach huts)

 Swimming and sunbathing without any clothing is rare

There has amusement arcades , bingo halls , discos , theatres , bowling alleys ,…

New Year Day’s is a public holiday in the United Kingdom on January 1 each other. It marks the start of the New Year in the Gregorian calendar . For many people have a quiet day on January 1, which marks the end of the Christmas break before they return to work
What do people do in New Year’s Day?
On New Year’s Eve( December 31), just before midnight, many people turn on a television to show pictures of one of the four clocks on the Clock Tower on the Place of Westminster, or Houses of Parliament, in London counting down the last minutes of the old year. At midnight, as the New Year begins, the chimes of Big Ben, the bell inside the Clock Tower are broadcast to mark the start of the New Year. Champagne or other sparkling wines are often served at this point
Many people hold parties at home or go out to pubs or night clubs. These parties often continue into the early hours of the morning. Hence, for many people, New Year`s Day is time for recovering from the excesses of the night before.
Mothers Day in UK is celebrated with great excitement and verve but it does not fall on the same date as in US. In UK, Mother`s Day celebrations takes place on the fourth Sunday in the month of Lent. Since the Lent days are not fixed, the date for mothers Day changes every year.
