ENGLISH TOPIC
1) Tivi.
Nowadays, many people all over the world spend most of their free time watching TV. Tevevision plays a vital role in our lives. It is one of the most useful means of media.
First, TV provides us information about the events that have happened or will happen all over the world. Television helps people to be closer.
Second, watching television helps us to broaden our knowledge. We can learn many things from many chanels on television such as foreign languages, science, English songs, housewifely skills ...ect. Many people choose TV as a principal channel to learn English.
Third, TV is a source of recreation. There are many gameshows, music programs and films on TV. They helps us to save a lot of money from buying tickets at cinema or theatre.
On the other hand, television has many bad effects on people. Watching television make us waste alot of time. There are many bad languages and violences on TV which can affect behaviour of people, specially children. Beside that, if we sit in front of televison too much time, we can get fat and our eyes will become weaker.
So if we watch television rightly, it will hepl us manythings about life and society.
2) Môi trường.
Environment is everythings around us, such as the air, water, trees, animals...
The more society develops, the more environment is influenced. The pressure of population and economic growth make a big sabotage to natural resources and environment.
Today, the environment is polluted for many reasons: The people destroy forests, animals have been killed and the pollution of the ocean, lakes, rivers, the smoke from many factories, the rubbish...
As the result, there are more and more soid erosions, floods, droughs… pollution causes many diseases too, specially lung cancer.
The problems that every one worries about is temporature is rising, maybe ice at the seas will melt; land is smaller; and people have no place to survive
These force all of countries to protect the environment together. We should plant many trees to refresh the air, to avoid flood. The factories need the system of rubbish processing to reduce exhaust fumes. And each of us should throw rubbish in right place to protect environment.
3) Vai trò của người phụ nữ.
“A half of the world is women”. Women play an important role in both family and society.
Nowadays, women are not only the mothers, the housewives but also take part in lots of social activities.
They can do anything that men can do. For example, work at Parliament. In political life, there are many women that undertake important positions, such as vice president of VN : Nguyễn Thị Bình, Trương Mỹ Hoa, Nguyễn Thị Doan…. Minister of Foreign Affairs of America : Rice, Hilarry Clinton… There are many women who is successful in business : …………………………….
Women nowadays also take part in some careers that used to belong to men such as : police, engineer, architect…. And there are some jobs that women can do better than men such as :( teacher ), nurse, ….
In brief, the women’s role in society has been enhanced. Gorvernments need to give some policies to carry out the equality for the women so that women can be developped totally and contribute society.
4) Giao thông.
The traffic reflects the developement of a nation.
In some big cities in VN such as : Ha Noi, HCM city… the traffic problem is very serious.
The more economy develops, the more vehicles appear. Because instead of taking the bus, every body wants to have his own vehicle. So density of traffic is so thick. Beside that, the road is so narrow. So, traffic jams often happen in the rush hour.
The street system is downgraded. It’s often full of water whenever it rains.
Accidents often happen. Many people are killed and injured.
On the other hand, people often don’t have got the sense of observe the traffic regulation. Police force is too thin to solve traffic problem.
Now, it is necessary to have a strict traffic regulation and enhance people’s sence of traffic. Beside, government also should open and restore the road to reduce accident.
5) Newspaper
The more society is developed, the more means of communication is required. Among means of communication, newspapers plays an important role in society.
Newspapers was born earlier than TV and Radio. Some country where newspapers base develops is America, Japan, England, Franch, Germany, India, China… ect. In these countries, the number of newspapers is very big. The newspapers corporations often earn many profits from advertising and issue.
The biggest daily newspaper in the world is Yomiuri Shimbun in Japan. This newspaper issues fourteen millions sheets a day.
Newspapers keep readers informed. They supply us with a variety news around the world everyday. Newspapers help to open our knowledge and take precautions against social evils such as : theft, murder, robbery….
