“be going to” can be used to express:

Note: Sometimes will and be going to are interchangeable when expressing predictions.
“WILL” can be used to express:
1.Promises
I promise I won’t come class late again.
2.Offers and requests for help
It is very hot here.
I will turn on the fan.
3. Refusal of things
-I`ve told her hundreds of times but she won`t help with the housework.
-I think we have too many things in this suitcase.It won’t open
4. Predictions about the future (no evidence in the present)
I think people will not use computers after 25th century.
Signals:  in + thời gian: trong … nữa (in 2 minutes)
- tomorrow, next day/week/month/year...
 I think/ believe/ suppose/expect/hope …
I am sure/I am afraid that/ I fear that.... -perhaps, probably

“be going to ” can be used to express:

-We are going to take a trip to HCM city this weekend.
-I have decided. I am going to buy a new car at the end of this year.

-Look at those dark clouds! It is going to rain.
-Peter works very hard. He is going to get promotion.
