LEICESTER SQUARE, LONDON

 Leicester Square is the cinema centre of London. It is claimed that the Square has the cinema with the largest screen and the cinema with the most seats (over 1600).
 The most famous cinema, the Odeon, is on the east side of the square. The Odeon has the first digital projector in Europe (1999), and in the largest single-screen cinema in the United Kingdom. The cinema can hold 1,683 people with seats arranged in circle and stalls. The Empire, on the north of the Square, is the second-largest cinema, with 1,330 seats in the main theatre, as well as eight smaller screens.
 The cheapest cinema in Leicester Square is ‘The Prince Charles’. This cinema often shows films a few weeks later than some of the others, so if you don’t mind being a bit behind the times and want to save some money this could be the place for you.
 Leicester Square is also where the stars come out at night. People wait (often out in the cold) and hoe they can see Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts or Brad Pitt as they step out of their limousines to attend the first night of their new movie. Watch out for the screaming fans!
