Part I
1. tolerant[`tɔlərənttowards s.o./ ofsth)able to accept or allow theopinions, beliefs, behaviour etc. ofother people, even though you donot agree (without getting angry): cólòngkhoandung; dễthathứ.
He`s tolerant towards people with different politicalopinions.
She`s tolerant of his bad habits.
2. to tolerate [`tɔlərəns] (sth)to be tolerant of something; toallow something to happen, eventhough you do not agree or youfind it unpleasant: chịuđựng(ai / cáigì) khôngphảnđối; thathứ; khoan dung.
She tolerates his smoking because she likes him so much.
I will not tolerate your rudeness any longer!
3. tolerance[`tɔlərəns]the ability to tolerate; the qualityof being tolerant: sựdungthứ.
The film is really an appeal for tolerance towards allpeople, whatever their race or religion.
4. patient[`pei∫ntwith s.o.)able to tolerate unpleasant ordifficult situations, or to wait forsomething, without becomingannoyed: tỏrakiênnhẫn, nhẫnnại.
I know he`s not the most intelligent pupil in the class, buthe does try,
so please be patient with him.

5. patience[`pei∫ns]the quality of being patient: tínhkiênnhẫn ;nhẫnnại.
Will you two stop shouting! I`m beginning to lose mypatience.
6. easygoing[`i:zi,gouiη]not easily worried or annoyed,and therefore tolerant:
dịudàngvàkhoandung;dễchịu.
He`s easygoing - he won`t mind if all the plans suddenlychange.
7. broad-minded[`brɔ:d`maindid]very tolerant of other people`sopinions or behavior, even ifthey are very different from yourown; not easily shocked: cótưtưởngrộngrãi; khoángđạt.
I can talk to my parents about absolutely everything. They`re very broad-minded.
8. open-minded[`oupn`maindid]willing to listen to and considernew ideas, opinions etc.; notjudging something before youexperience it: cócáinhìncởimở; khôngthànhkiến.
Although I`d read a lot of bad things about America, I was quite open-minded
when I went there.
9. to put up with (s.o./sth)to tolerate or accept (someone orsomething annoying or npleasant)without complaining: khoan dung; chịuđựngdượcai / cáigì.
I honestly don`t know how she puts up with him - he`s so selfish!He puts up with his job because he needs themoney.
10.to stand for (sth) (usually used in negative statements or questions) to acceptor tolerate (something unpleasant):chịuđựng hay khoan dung.
I`m not going to stand for any more of his insults.
Why doyou stand for such behavior?
Part 2
1- intolerant[in`tɔlərəntof s.o./ sth)not tolerant: không dung thứđược.
She`s intolerant of people who don`t agree with her.
He`sintolerant of other people`s weaknesses.
2- intolerance[in`tɔlərəns]the inability or refusal to tolerate :khôngkhoan dung
It is intolerance that causes many arguments.
3- impatient[im`pei∫nt] (with s.o.)not patient
A lot of people say that the British are very impatient withforeignerswho don`t speak English.
Wait your turn anddon`t be so impatient!
4- narrow-minded[`nærou`maindid]having fixed and limited opinions;
unwilling to consider new or different ideas, opinions etc: đầuóchẹphòi.
You`re so narrow-minded. Can`t you accept that someoneelse might have a point for- once?
5-small-minded[`smɔ:l`maindid]having an intolerant and ungenerous mind:
bầntiệnvàíchkỷ; tiểunhân.
How small-minded can you get! Even though they knowwho I am, the bank insistedthat I showed them someidentity.
6- petty[`peti]small-minded, especially in connection with trivial matters: nhỏnhặt; bầntiện(đặcbiệttrongnhữngcôngviệctầmthường).
My boss is so petty, reporting people if they`re more thanone minute late.
7- bigoted[`bigətid]having very strong and often unreasonable opinions, especiallyabout politics or religion, andbelieving that everyone else iswrong:
cốchấpvàhẹphòi( đặcbiệtvềchínhtrị hay tôngiáo)
He`s so bigoted that it`s impossible to discuss politics withhim.
