A/ Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to

- listen and immitate the way to talk about rooms in a house.

- use “This/That is …” to introduce rooms in the house.

B/ Teaching point:

house bathroom

bedroom kitchen

living room

b) Structures:

This is the living room.

That is my bedroom.

C/ Ways of working: T-whole class, group work, pair work.

D/ Teaching aids: stereo, tape for unit 9, pictures of rooms in the house.

E/ Procedure:

Revision: Hangman

II/ New lesson

- Present new words.

- Have students study the new words.

- Show the picture SA1

- Ask students to listen to the tape (twice).

- Have students listen and repeat the sentences in chorus.

- Find out the structure to introduce rooms in the house.

- Ask students to retell the use of the structure.

- Ask students to read the sentences in pairs.

- Call some students to read again.

- Comment.

SA 1 – Look, listen and read

New words:

living room:	phòng khách
bedroom:	phòng ngủ
kitchen:	bếp
Bathroom:	phòng tắm

Structures:

This is the living room.

That is my bedroom.

- Encourage students to talk about the picture

- Have students repeat the words in chorus.

- Model the first, ask students to repeat.

- Ask them to do the same with the other pictures.

- Have students work in groups of 4, talk about the pictures.

- Call some students to speak aloud.

- Do Ex.1 (P.54) - workbook

SA 2 – Look and say: Picture drill.

- Students talk about the task they have to do.

- Modal.

- Ask students to work in small groups, use the structure to introduce the rooms in the house.

- Call some pairs to speak out.

- Comment.
