THÌ HIỆN TẠI ĐƠN
(Simple present)
A. Giới thiệu
Thì hiện tại đơn diễn tả các hành động, sự việc xảy ra ở hiện tại, các sự thật hiển nhiên, các thói quen lặp đi lặp lại ở hiện tại.
Ví dụ:
- I’m a pupil. (Tôi là một học sinh)
- The car is red. (Cái ô tô màu đỏ)
- I go to school at 7 o’clock. (Tôi đi học lúc 7 giờ)

Phủ định

E.g.: He doesn't work in a shop. (Anh ta không làm việc ở cửa tiệm.)

LƯU Ý:
- Khi chia động từ ở ngôi He, She, It ta phải thêm “s” vào sau động từ thường (Ví dụ: like => likes) hoặc thêm “es” vào sau các động từ có đuôi tận cùng là các chữ cái ch, sh, o, s, x, z (Ví dụ: do => does, go => goes).
- Riêng động từ have khi chia ở ngôi thứ 3 số ít (she, he, it) ta đổi thành has
- Bỏ y và thêm -ies vào sau các động từ kết thúc bởi một phụ âm + y:
study - studies; fly - flies; try - tries ...
C. DẤU HIỆU NHẬN BIẾT
Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì hiện tại đơn: khi trong câu có các trạng từ chỉ tần suất:
➢ Always (luôn luôn) , usually (thường xuyên), often (thường xuyên), frequently (thường xuyên) , sometimes (thỉnh thoảng), seldom (hiếm khi), rarely (hiếm khi), hardly (hiếm khi) , never (không bao giờ), generally (nhìn chung), regularly (thường xuyên) ...
Ví dụ:
- We sometimes go to the beach. (Thỉnh thoảng chúng tôi đi biển.)
- I always drink lots of water. (Tôi thường hay uống nhiều nước.)
➢ Every day, every week, every month, every year, every morning … (mỗi ngày, mỗi tuần, mỗi tháng, mỗi năm).
