Lesson 2: Part 1-2-3

I. Objectives:

1. Knowledge:

- By the end of this lesson, Ps will be able to ask and answer about the quantity of things.

2. Skills:

- Develop Ps speaking and listening skills.

3. Language focus:

- Sentence patterns: How many + noun(plural) + are there? - There are + number.

 - Vocabulary: how many, lets, count, them, cup, fan, mirror, window.

II. Teaching aids:

II. New lesson:

1. Look, listen and repeat

- Ask Ps to identify the characters in 2 pictures on page 26 and ask:

+ Who are they?

 

+ Where are they?

 

+ And What are they talking about?

- Teach some new words:

how many: có bao nhiêu

lets = let us: chúng ta hãy

count: đếm

them: chúng

cup: cái ly

+ Teacher read first as a model and ask the Ps to repeat

+ Have the Ps repeat in groups and individuals

- Open the tape and have the Ps listen the sound of the words.

- Play the recording a few times for pupils to listen and repeat. Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking

- Instruct Ss to translate the dialogue into Vietnamese.

2. Point and say

- Tell Ps that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about quantity of things.

- Teach some new words:

   fans: cái qut

   mirror: gương soi

   window: ca s

+ Teacher read first as a model and ask the Ps to repeat

+ Have the Ps repeat in groups and individuals

- Instruct how to ask and answer about the quantity of things.

 

- T practices as a model and ask Ps to practice in choral, groups and pairs. Correct Ps error pronunciation

4. Listen and number

- Have Ps look at the picture on page 27. Elicit the identification of the characters in the pictures and the characters words. Tell Ps that they are going to listen to the recording and number the things they hear. They should number the things.

- Open the tape and listen the sound of the words

- Turn on the tape 2 times and ask Ps to listen and number.

- Ask some questions to ensure Ps comprehension of the listening text.

5. Read and write

- T introduces the topicyou are going to read the paragraph to get the information in order to answer the questions

- Ps read silently and answer the questions.

- Ps trade their answers within pairs or groups for correction

- Make some questions to check Ps comprehension of the reading text.

- Have the whole class read each line of the paragraph chorally to reinforce their pronunciation.

- Play the recording a few times for Ps to listen and repeat. Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking

- Have Ps look at the sentences on page 28 and guess the suitable words to fill in the blank.

- Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and fill the blanks.  

- Play the recording again pupils check their answers.

- Make some questions to check Ss comprehension of the reading text.
