Lesson 1 : A/ Is your house big? (A1,2)
A. Aims:- To help Ss with “Yes/No” questions in certain structures.
- To help Ss with listening and speaking skill.
- To help Ss to widen their vocabulary knowledge with some words of places.
B. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ss can:
- Use rising intonation at the end of the questions.
- Ask and answer about their own houses, using the vocabulary of places and
“Yes/ No” questions such as “Is your house

- Get some more revision for “There is/are

- Lets the class play the game called Crossword Puzzle for both homework-checking and leading to the new lesson.



- Presents the new words, using the pictures.
- Calls one or two students to read the new words aloud for pronunciation-checking.

- Leads the class to the dialogue.








-Lets the class do a simple listening task, using the technique
“Mind map”.

- Lets the class practice reading the dialogue in close pairs.
- Corrects the students’ mispronunciation if necessary.
- Uses “Mind map of my house” to lead the class to the practice stage
( asking and answering about their own houses)

- Gives out necessary guides so that students can practice in close pairs
- Calls one pair to demonstrate before the class.
- Gives them good marks if they do the task well.


-Lets the class practice describing Thanh’s house, using “Mind map of Thanh’s house”
- Calls one or two students to talk before the class.
-Gives him/her a good mark if he/she does the speaking task well.
- Leads the class to section A2 (p.73) and guides them to do “section A2” at home.
