Unit 1: At the park (Lesson 1)
A. Aim:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- Recognize and pronounce the letter Bb and its sound correctly
- Understand, recognize and say the four Bb words

B. Procedure:
I. Warm-up:
Greeting
II. New lesson: Listen, point and repeat:
- Introduction of letter B, its sound and how to pronounce the words beginning with Bb.
- Write on board the letter Bb to introduce to the students the new lesson.
- Instruct students how to pronounce the letter name and the letter sound by saying: “This is the letter B /bi/. The letter B says /b/.”
- Repeat several times and check students’ pronunciation
- Use the phonics cards introduce Ba, Bill, ball and book read the words out loud and have students listen, point and repeat.
- Use pictures to help students to understand the meanings of the three words.
- Stick the cards on board and have students repeat the words chorally several times
- Guide sts play the “Slap the board” game with the four words above
III. Practice:
1. Look and match (Workbook):
- Show the pictures
- Elicit names and the boys and things in the pictures
- Get sts point and say names and things one by one
- Call some sts point and say
- Have sts match the wordswith right things in the pictures.
- Go around to look and check sts’ work
- Give feedback
- Show the answer key

2. Look and circle (Workbook):
- Show the content of the exercise
- Point to each pictures, have sts say the names of things themselves
- Run through the 4 words given – Sts listen and repeat
- Have sts look at the words given and circle the right pictures.

A. Aim:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- Practice saying the letter Bb and its sound correctly
- Practice four Bb words by chanting
* Skills
Reading, Listening, Speaking
* Teaching aids: Phonics cards
B. Procedure:
I. Warm-up:
- Greet students
- Recall the 4 words with the Bb: Ba, Bill, ball, book
II. New lesson:
1. Point and say:
- By the end of the part, sts can revise the words, point and say them corectly
- Show the pictures
- Elicit names and things in the pictures
- Get sts point and say names and things one by one
- Call some sts point and say
- Give feedback
2. Chant :
- Show the chant on th board
- Read through the sentences
- Have listen and repeat the sentences
- Play the tape a few times.
- Ask them to listen again and repeat.
3. Listen and tick:
- Encourage the students to point to the picture of the word that the teacher says.
- Play the CD. Have the students listen once.
- Play the CD again. The students listen and tick the correct picture
- Get sts’ answer
- Give feedback
