INTRODUCTION THE BOOK
I. Objectives:

- By the end of this lesson the ss will be able to understand well about the book: Tiếng anh 4 and some characters in the book

1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, cassette.

III. Procedures:
Teacher introduces
1. “TIENG ANH 4” has 3 books. (Two student books and one exercise book)
- Each student book has 10 units. After 5 units has a review.
- Each unit has 3 lessons
- Each lesson has 4 parts
- Prepare for the academic year.

2. Open the book and ask the ss some questions:
What page can you see the book map?
What page can you see the glossary?
Where can you see the characters in the book?
Where can you find the CD?

3. Introduce the main characters in this book
Teacher uses the puppets to introduce the name of the characters one by one.

- Tell ps that they are going to learn to greet and respond to greeting formally. - Point to the first picture and elicit the character names and answer the questions. Who are they? / Where are they? What are they talking about? Repeat the procedure with the second picture. |

Hello/Hi is used to greet each other in an informal way. Good morning / Good afternoon / Good evening is used to greet each other formally |
-Tell ps that they are going to practice greeting and responding to each other formally by using Good morning / Good afternoon / Good evening. -Have them look at the pictures to understand how the language is used in different contexts. -Point to each character and elicit his/her name. Point to the picture and ask Ss to fill the gaps. Put all the sentences on the board and have Ss repeat each sentence. -Do choral and individual repetition, using the character’s names. -Get Ss to work in pair .Check as a class. |

- Tell Ps that they are going to play the game Bingo. - Stick a large sheet of paper with the bingo grid to the board. Tell pupils that there are nine words in the grid. Ask them to draw a grid and put the nine words in the boxes in random order. Check comprehension. - When everything is ready, call out the words, one at a time. Pupils should put a cross on the word you say. Continue calling until there is a pupil getting three words in a straight line crossed out and calling Bingo. |
