INTRODUCTION THE BOOK

I. Objectives:
1. Knowledge:
- By the end of this lesson the ss will be able to understand well about the book: English 4 and some characters in the book
2. Skills:
- Develop Ss speaking, listening and reading skills.
3. Language focus:
- Sentence Patterns: Grammers in Student book of English 4
- Vocabularies: new words in Student book
II. Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.
III. Procedures:
Teacher introduces
1. “English 3” has 4 books. (Two student books and one exercise book)
Each student book has 10 units. After 5 units has a review.
Each unit has 3 lessons
Each lesson has 4 parts
Prepare for the academic year.

+ use the words and phrases related to the topic Meeting people
+ greet and respond to greetings formally, using Good morning / Good afternoon / Good evening and nice to see you again
II. Language focus:
- Vocabulary: Good morning / Good afternoon / Good evening and nice to see you again
- Grammar: Nice to see you again
III. Teaching aids: books, notebooks, cassette, rulers, pens and rubbers.

1. Warm up:
-Encourage pupils to greet each other in pairs. Have the whole class sing the song “Hello”
-Get pupils to open their books on page 6 and read the title. Ask them to look at the first four pictures and explain the context.

- Tell ps that they are going to learn to greet and respond to greeting formally. - Point to the first picture and elicit the character names and answer the questions.

What are they talking about? Repeat the procedure with the second picture.

- Play the recording for Ss to listen and say along.
