I. Aims
By the end of the lesson, Ps can:
- Use the words and phrases related to the topic My family.
- Ask and answer questions about family numbers, using Who’s that? He’s/she’s + (family number)

II. Language focus:
* Sentences patterns: Who’s that?
* Voc: man, father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, sister, brother.

III. Teaching aids:
Text book, Picture, cassette, CD, workbook, puppets……

VI. Procedure.
A. Warm up:


Greet the class by saying Hello.
Spend a few minutes revising language unit by singing the hide-and-seek song and play a game of slap the board using the Voc learnt in unit 10










B. Main lesson
1. Look, listen and repeat:
Tell Ps that they are going to asking and answering the question about family numbers and their ages. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the first picture and elicit what the names of the character say. Give the meaning of new voc. have Ps repeat the text a few times. Repeat the procedure with the second picture.
Do choral and individual repetition. Pointing to the character speaking.
Play the recording for Ps to listen and say along


2. Point and say.
- Tell Ps that they are going to practise asking and answering the question Who’s that? He’s/she’s + (family number) Point to each picture and have Ps repeat the words the words under it a few times. Elicit the word to fill the gap. Put the question and answer on the board and have Ps repeat them a few times.
Do choral and individual repetition, using the pictures in the book or objects in the classroom
Get Ps to work in pair. Check as the class.


3. Let’s talk.
- Tell Ps that they are going to practise more with their friends. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the picture and check comprehension by pointing to and eliciting the name of each activity. Have Ps work in pairs. Go around offer help and correct the pronunciation, if necessary.
Call a few Ps to act out the dialogue in front of the class.
Tell Ps to ask and answer questions about their own families.

C. Consodilation
Language note:
Draw Ps’ attention to the pronunciation of th in the word father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, brother. Show them how to articulate the sound of the voiced th

VI. Procedure.
A. Warm up:


Spend a few minutes revising the language learnt by having the class play a game slap the board, using the words for family numbers. Read the activities bank in the introduction for more activities.










B. Main lesson
4. Listen and tick:
Tell Ps that they are going to listen and tick the correct boxes.
Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the pictures. Check comprehention and give feedback.
Play the recording three times for Ps to listen, do the task and check their answers.
Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class.

5. Read and complete
- Tell Ps that they are going to look at the pictures and fill the gaps. Give a few seconds to look at the pictures and read the text in silence. Check comprehension and give feedback.
Give Ps time to do the text. Go around to offer help, if necessary
Get Ps to swap and correct their answer before checking as a class. Write the correct answers on the board for Ps to copy down into your notebooks.
