Time: 35 minutes 

I.Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

                    + Unit objective: Learn to identify parts of the face and body.

                    + Lesson objective: Recognize parts of the body.

            II.New vocabularies: Hands, arms, legs, feet, fingers, toes, shake, clap, stamp, close.

            III.Vocabulary review: Leg, touch, numbers.

           IV.New grammar: It’s (color).

Play: Simon says.

- Say “Simon says. Touch your hair”, model it and ask the students to do it.

- Listen to the Teacher and follow her instruction.

- Repeat with all the face vocabularies.

- Review “leg” and “arm”. And continue repeating with “arm” and “leg”.

- Repeat once more with all the face vocabularies.

- Do the same with all the face vocabularies.

- Do the same with “arm” and “leg”.

 

- Repeat faster and faster to make it fun.

- Say: “Please look at me. I will do it deliberately incorrectly. Be careful! If you’re wrong you will hop 5 rounds”

- Play faster and faster.

- Listen to the teacher’s advice and then play the game carefully.

-Ask a student to act as the “teacher” and continue choosing what Simon says.

 

- Continue to play the game with their friends.

- The winner is the last one who plays correctly.

- Praise the winner by clapping hands.

Activity 1: Listen and point. Then say.

1. Pre teach New words:

- Hands: bàn tay. (visual)

- Arms: cánh tay. (visual)

- Legs: chân. (visual)

- Feet: bàn chân. (visual)

- Fingers: ngón tay. (visual)

- Toes: ngón chân. (visual)

- Guess the name of each part of the body in the flashcards and answer the teacher’s question:

Bàn tay, cánh tay, chân, bàn chân, ngón tay, ngón chân.

- Eliciting from children: Show the students flashcards and ask them to guess the name of the parts of the body in the flashcards. (Show 1 part of flashcard about parts of the face in order to make surprised for Ss).

 

- Listen to the Teacher.

 

 

 

  -Model 2 or 3 times.

  -Ask the Ss to repeat in chorus, groups and individual.

- Repeat after the teacher in chorus, groups and individual.

-Check understanding ( stress, intonation, meaning)

- Put the picture of that word.

- Check meaning, stress, intonation.

 

-Stick pictures of those parts of the body to the board next to each word.

 

 

  - Play the CD and get the students to repeat after it in chorus.
  - Get the students to look at the board and repeat after the teacher.
- Call some students to read again.

Game: Matching.

- Draw 1 alien at the page 72 on the board with full 6 parts of the body.

- Ask the students to look at the board.

Play: Matching.

 

 

- Look at the board.

- Put the words of 6 parts of body on the table but not in order.

- Divide class into 2 groups Eddie and Beakie.

- Call 3 students in each group to come to the board, and ask them to make a line.

- 3 students of each group come to the board, and make a line.

 

 

- Ask Ss to take the words on the table and match with one part of body one by one. (The first student matches the word with right part of body and then the next student will continue with other words).

- Give them 20 seconds.

- The 1st student of the line matches word with the right picture.

- Then the next student, he/she continues to match other word with other parts of body.

- Monitor each group’s activity and be available to help if they need.

- Continue until the last student of the line.

- Then, check the matching of each group with whole class.

- Give mark for each correct match to each group.

- The group which has more points is the winner.

- Listen to the teacher and check the matching.

- Praise the winner by a big applause.

- Clapping hands.

Activity 2: Look at the alien. Say true sentences.

- Ask children to work in pairs and say sentences about the alien and practice counting arms, toes, fingers in 2 minutes.

- Ask children to close their books.

- Divide the class into 2 groups and ask them to speak about the alien. For example:

He has four eyes. He has 4 arms. He has 4 hands.

- Work in 2 groups.

- Speak out the sentences to talk about the alien.

- Call some children in each group to make up sentences. Then check if the sentence is right or wrong. If it is right, they will get 1 point for their group.

-Play the CD and ask the Ss to listen

 

-Liten to the CD.

-Demonstrate shake, clap, stamp, close your eyes, as they listen. Ss practice without music.

-Play the CD again, have the Ss sing and act it out.

*Draw an alien.

- Distribute the printout to each student and have them draw pictures of an alien in their textbooks.

 

- Get printout from the teacher.

 

- Ask the children to imagine an alien they like and draw it in to print-out (encourage them to draw an alien which has more parts of the body).

- Have them color the pictures.

- Have them work in pairs and describe their alien.
