* Activity 1:Vocabulary
- T asks ss to look at the extra vocabulary in the box and guess the meaning of vocabulary.
- T writes words on the board and ss say the meaning.
- T guides ss to read these words.(twice)
- Some ss read words aloud.
- T calls ss to make sentences with words.
-Then T asks Ss to answer these questions:
? How do you often make friends?
? What do you often say when you first meet a new friend?
? What questions do you often ask? (name/ age/ hobby)
- T explains the exercise 1 and reminds ss of how to form yes- no questions and Wh- questions in present simple tense.(Remember- Close look 2)
* Activity 2:
T shows the extra-board listing the questions and asks ss to work in groups of four as well as decide which questions should be used to ask a new friend.
T explains that we should not ask a new friend personal questions such as 3,5,8
-T allows Ss some time to write questions on a piece of paper.
- Ss share them with the class or group.
- T lets ss add more questions to the list.
- Ss share these questions to their friends.
- Ss read their questions.
* Activity 3:
-T asks Ss to give qualities of a good friend in class.
- Ss give as many words as possible.
-T divides the class into groups of 4. Ss take turns to interview the other members, using the questions.
- T asks questions: ? How many "yes" answers should a good friend have?
? Who have 8 "yes" answers?
-T asks ss to present talking about good classmates.
- Some ss say before class.
-T encourages Ss to give nice sentences about friendship
- T chooses some Ss to present to the class about their good friends and why they are good friends (
- T notices ss avoid talking about someone who is considered “not a good friend”.
4. Feedback.(2’)
Ss repeat the questions using to ask about a new friend and the qualities of a good friend
5. Home work(3’)
- T guides ss to prepare the lesson at home
