Unit 1: Me - Lesson 1

I: Overview:

1. Objectives:

- By the end of the lesson, students will able to:

 * identify the course characters.

 * identify english syllables

2.Vocabulary:  Adam, Baz,  Jig, Pat, Tess

3. Teaching aids:  

- Flashcards of  1 - 5.

- CD track 1,2; CD player

4. Method: Teacher-whole class, groups, individuals.

1. Warm up

- Greet students and Introduce name

- Introduce student book and activity book.

- Give some pictures: Doremon, Mickey, Tom; Jerry……

- Introduce about characters that students will meet in books

- Ask students to look at picture at page 4 and 5.

- Ask students discuss about the content of the picture and answer two questions:

+ How old are the children in the picture?

+ What is their relationship?

2. Listen and say

- Introduce about the characters in the picture and told that they are students’ friends through this course

- Ask students to listen to the CD to find out the characters’ names.

- Play the CD while holding Flashcards.

- Ask students to point to the character in their books

- Ask students to listen and repeat twice.

- Ask students to say the names of the characters in groups and individuals.

3. Listen And Find

- Say the names in random and hold flashcards

- Ask students to listen and point to characters in their books => Check and correct

- Ask students to listen to the tape and point the character in the board (flashcards) . =>  Observe, check and correct

4. Match and say

- Ask students to open Activity book page 4 and do the exercise

- Model the tracing activity slowly

- Ask students to do with their fingers

- Ask students to do with their pencils.

5. Play a Game:

Slap the board with flashcards of the 5 character.

- Guide students to play

- Hold one of the Flashcard of the characters and Say a wrong name or right name.

2. Listen and say

- Ask students to look at the picture at page 4,5, discuss and answer the questions

- Ask students to listen to the CD.

+ Hello, I’m Baz.
