Lesson 1: Words.

  1. Objectives

By the end of the lesson, the students be able to:

  • Remember and pronoun correctly 6 words in topic School things
  • Understand the meanings and use those words in many contexts.
  • Read and understand short story.
  1. Topic – Language targets:

Vocabulary: pen, pencil, rubber, ruler, book.

Sentence pattern: “What’s this? →It’s ….”

  1. Anticipated problems:

-         Students make noise when studying or playing game.

-         Ss may have difficulties in speaking, listening, some phrase, in completing all words

-         Ss may pronoun wrong new words.

  • Solution:

-         T tries to get Ss’ attention or gives the punishment if Ss make noise.

-         Makes models, uses the tape many times if necessary, explains, gives eliciting questions.

-         Pay attention to listen and correct Ss’ pronunciation.

  1. Time: 90 minutes.
  2. Teaching methods: Communicative approach and other methods.

Today, we’re going to learn about Unit1: What’s this? Lesson 1

- Shows the title of Unit8: What’s this? Lesson1”.

1. Introduce new words:

- Shows 6pictures one by one and asks “What is this?” to introduce the new words.

- Explains the meaning. (guessing by  Vnese)

- Ask students to repeat after the teacher one by one (in class in groups)

- Checks pronunciation of students.

2. Listen, point and repeat:

- Show all 6 pictures with text

- Asks Ss to look at task1.

- Plays CD and asks Ss to listen and point to your book.

- Plays Cd and asks Ss to listen and repeat after the CD one by one words.

3. Listen and read:

Set the scene:

- Shows 4 pictures without text and asks Ss some question to set the scene..

- Plays the CD track.

- Asks Ss to listen and find out, circle the words they have learnt.

- Lets Ss listen 1 more time.

- Pauses and plays each sentence for Ss can practice reading along.

- Asks Ss to practice in class, in groups, in pairs.

- Calls on some pairs to practice this conversation.

- Check the pronunciation of students and give feedbacks.
