I. Warm up:(5’)

Spend a few minutes having the class say the chant How can we get there? And do actions?

II. New lesson:(25’)

4. Read and do the tasks.

a. Pre-reading:       

- Tell Ps that they are going to read the passage and label the places on the map.

- Get Ps time to read the text and check their comprehension. Give meanings of common, accidents, sofa and tips

- Explain the unfamiliar words, if necessary.

b. While-reading:

- Set a time limit for them to do the task independently. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary.

- Get them to compare their answers before checking as a class.

- Get them to read their writing in pairs before inviting two or three Ps to read their answers aloud.

6. Project

- Tell the class that they are going to draw a simple map about to show the way to their home from their school.

- Have them work in groups. They should decide which direction to select and discuss how to a draw them. - Set a time limit for them to do the task.

- Ask them to work in groups and decide whose home they will use to draw the map. They should write notes to give directions from the home to their school.

- If there is not enough time, give the activity as homework. Have  Ps show their result in the next class.

7. Colour the stars

- Have the class read the statements and check their comprehension.

- Give them time to colour the stars and invite a few Ps to read the statements aloud.

- Give further support to Ps who find it difficult to achieve certain objectives.

- Ask and answer questions about what some one would like to eat or drink, using What would you like to eat/drink? I’d like….,please.

- Ask and answer questions about the quantityof food or drink, using how many/much….do you eat/drink every day? I eat/ drink……

- Say questions and answers with the correct intonation.

- Have the class talk about directions, using the map they made for Unit 16, Lesson 3. Activity 6. Invite a few pupils to show their map and give directions from their home to the school.

1. Look, Listen and repeat.

- Tell the class that they are going to read and listen to a story

- Have the class look at the pictures. Introduce the story by pointing at each character and elicit their answers to the questions: Who is he/she?What would he/she like to eat? What would he/she like to drink?( Mai and Nam are in the school canteen, ordering food and drink . In picture a, Mai say I’d like some rice with fish, please. In picture b, the lady asks Nam what would you like to eat? And Namanswers I’d like a bowl of noodles, please. In picture c, the lady asks Mai what would you like to drink ? and she answers I’d like a cartoon of apple juice, please. In picture d, Nam say I’d like a glass of water, please.)

- Play the recording all the way through for the class to listen and follow in their books. Play it again for them to repeat line by line. Finally, point to each picture for them to say the words in

each bubble.

- Check their understanding of the story.
