  Lesson 1: Getting started

Weddings in Viet Nam

 

I.Class description: Class 10A1 thirteen boys, twenty-seven girls. They are Vietnamese. Some of them are good at English. They get on well with each other.

II. Time: 20 minutes

III. Objectives: By the end of the lesson students will be able to:

-learn the useful information about weddings in Vietnam such as the similarities and differences between a traditional wedding and a modern one.

-read a conversation to find main keys for answers.

- make a simple conversation about weddings in Vietnam by using the knowledge in society.

IV. Assumed knowledge: The whole class use English 10 as their course book and syllabus. At the moment we are on Unit 7: cultural and diversity.

V. Materials: Textbook, pictures, handouts and tape/CD and a projector.

VI. Anticipated problems:

-It’s possible to lack of time, so teacher had better shorten the last activity.

-Students may not know the techniques to do the tasks, so teacher should offer them some tips before letting them do the tasks.

-calls some Ss to take role-play to practice more.

Task 2:

-calls one Ss to read the requirements.

-has Ss to work in pairs to discuss what is the conversation about?

-checks their answers.
